Our Values

The Three Core Values of liberti church are Worship, Community and Mercy.

Worship

All of life is worship. We are all worshippers, whether we admit it or not.  Because we were created for worship, when we do not worship God we worship other finite things; we set our hearts on relationships, careers, money, accomplishments, approval, comfort, power.  These are all things that we tend to ‘worship’, instead of worshipping God.  Worship of anyone or anything other than God will ultimately degrade and dehumanize.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ sets us free to worship properly. The Gospel (trans. “good news”) of Christ’s death and resurrection proclaims that we can freely receive what none of our own efforts or accomplishments could ever achieve for us – acceptance, approval, and reconciliation with the God we were estranged from.  Freed in Christ and reconciled to God our Father, we now worship the true God instead of worshipping the things he has created. Since all things were created by God and belong to God – music, literature, sexuality, nature, and everything else – we now celebrate and serve Him with the things he has created, instead of worshipping the things themselves.

Corporate worship is the center of the Christian life. On each Sunday, the day Christ rose from the dead, Christians around the world come together to remember and rehearse the freedom we have received from God in Christ.  Our community of worshippers happens to meet at 125 Titus Ave, located between 611 and County Line RD in Warrington, PA.  You are most welcome to join us at 5 PM on Sunday’s.  Read more about these Sunday worship services on our Worship page.

Community

The Church is not an event or a place, but a people.  Among the many biblical metaphors for the Church are a body (1 Cor. 12:12-26), a family (Galatians 6:1-2, 10), and a nation (1 Peter 2:9-10).  The Christian life, clearly, was never meant to be pursued alone.  Therefore, we are committed to loving and spiritually encouraging each other.

In addition to our Sunday worship services, we have many weekly home meetings and numerous other events throughout the week to provide opportunities to strengthen community life.  Please read more about liberti’s community life on our Community page.

Mercy

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for yoursakes he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich.” 2 Corinthians 8:9

True Christian mercy and service is not just “charity”.  Mercy is not motivated by compulsion, duty, or guilt.  Christian mercy is rooted in the awareness that we are all recipients of God’s mercy through Jesus Christ – a mercy that we’ve done nothing to deserve.  In an effort to model the selfless love of Christ to as many as possible, part of the mission of our church is to love the people of Philadelphia through acts of service, and also dream about what this city could become.
